The Supported Employment Service is paid for by Worcestershire County Council and gives free support to people that:
-
have a learning disability
-
receive support from Adult Social Care
-
want to look at options around finding paid employment
The service supports people to access work and learn through paid work, helping to increase life skills, experience, involvement in the community and independence.
The service works with partners, charities, business and employers to help them understand how they can employ and support people with Learning Disabilities in a work setting.
It works with Adult Services and other Worcestershire County Council support teams to speak to support workers, learning disability community teams and commissioners of services to support someone’s journey in to work in the best way. This might include working with teams to understand things like housing, safeguarding, education, travel or other day activity. The service also provides advice and links to other organisations that can also offer work related support and guidance.
