SeeAbility is a charity that supports people with learning disabilities or autism, who may also have sight loss.
Registered as The Royal School for the Blind, SeeAbility is one of the oldest disability charities in the UK and has pioneered specialist support for over 225 years.
SeeAbility supports people to live ambitious lives and achieve things they never thought possible. Everything from forming friendships and extending social circles, to enjoying new experiences or finding employment.
This includes:
- Tailored support and accommodation for adults with learning disabilities and autism
- Supported living and residential homes in the South of England
- Resources, information and help with eye care – including finding an optometrist and sight loss support
- A dedicated supported employment programme, Ready, Willing and Able, which helps people with learning disabilities, autism or sight loss find the right job and get the support they need to stay in work
Downloadable resources can be found on their website – many of which are available in easy read format – from eye care to supported employment.
