Potens helps children and adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health and complex needs through a variety of support services.
We offer a range of support services across the country, including supported living, respite, schooling and day opportunities. Our approach is flexible – we aim to help individuals achieve the best outcomes.
Education
Specialist independent school, Arbour House, and Arbour College, both based in Weymouth offer bespoke educational provision to children and young people who have complex needs including learning disabilities and/or autism.
Respite/Short breaks
We have a range of care and support breaks that provide carers to take a break, holiday or simply spend some time looking after their own needs, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is receiving the very best care.
Day opportunities
Day opportunities are geared towards building life skills. These can be anything from everyday tasks like riding the bus and cookery classes to work experience. Day opportunities allow you to build your social networks and access activities close to home within the local community whilst gaining a greater independence.
Residential care
The aim is to equip people with the skills for them to take control, increase their independence and reduce support overtime in line with their need. We have many examples of individual moving onto supported living in their own tenancy as part of a pathway to independent living.
Supported living
Supported living allows your independence to grow whilst you are in a safe supportive environment. These services are either in a flat scheme or shared house where an individual has their own tenancy. Support can be round the clock or merely a few hours a week – everyone’s needs are different. Our supported living services are available throughout England, Ireland and Wales.
