10th November 2021 • My Family Our Needs
The BAPS Awards have come to a close for another year, and if you missed all the action last week, we’re bringing you the best bits (which was pretty much all of it).
The BAPS (Bloody Awesome Parents) Awards are dedicated to recognising the parents and carers of children with additional needs, and the wider SEND community. If you’re not familiar with the BAPS Awards, find out all about them, and why they are important here.
This year the ceremony took place at a stunning new venue, the Athena in Leicester, which gave many Great Gatsby vibes. It was hosted by British performer, writer and director best known for his portrayal of Gavin in the beloved Gavin and Stacey, Mathew Horne. There was plenty of booze, much laughter and a few tears as our nominees and winners swapped stories and achieved their goal of spreading wider awareness of the SEND community. Did we mention It was great to be able to come together once again in person?!
Here’s a batch of the unofficial photos from the night (always the best ones), and a little film to give you a feel for the night. Please do check out the winners page and read all about them here.
