The Transition Event East 2017
November 15 @ 9:30 am - 4:15 pm| Free - £99.00
The Transition Event East is the East of England’s dedicated conference and exhibition on the future of young adults with additional needs.
Becoming an adult is an exciting time, but for disabled teenagers, it can offer up more questions than answers. Will I get a job? Where will I live? What education path can I follow? Will adult services be able to support me? The Transition Event aims to help answer these questions and more, through its carefully devised conference agenda, knowledgeable experts and exhibition of services.
Whether you are a parent of a disabled teen, a teacher supporting young people with additional needs from Year 9 up or other practitioner supporting disabled young adults and their families, the Transition Event can help you get the best possible future for them.
Find out more about Education, Health and Care Plans, what should go in them to make sure young people are getting what they need. Discover how adult social services works and what you need to know when moving from children’s to adult’s services. Plus, all the other important life areas, including employment, housing or education options. The Transition Event has the disability experts to help.
Alongside the conference, there are three interactive workshops that offer more information on subjects such as Benefits. There is also an exhibition of organisations offering local and national products and services for people with disabilities. These include local charities, national education providers, support providers, advisers and more.
If you live in the East or surrounding counties, The Transition Event East is here to help answer your questions to support young people with disabilities to achieve their hopes for the future.
